Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat said that the basis of our unity is our motherland and glorious tradition. In our (Sangh’s) perspective, the word Hindu is a symbol of motherland, ancestors, and heritage of Indian culture. The word ‘Hindu’ is not a mere noun denoting a caste, or a linguistic group. On the other hand, this is the name of the tradition that guides the development and upliftment of every human being. Irrespective of their belief, language, creed, religion, we consider every Indian citizen as Hindu, in this context. There will be no disrespect for other’s opinion here, but we have to think of India’s supremacy, not Muslim supremacy in isolation. Everyone has to walk together to take the country forward.
In the conclave titled ‘Nation First – Nation Supreme’ , organized by Global Strategic Policy Foundation in Mumbai Sarsanghchalak ji, expressed his views. Seated on the dais along with him Arif Mohammad Khan, Honourable Governor of Kerala and Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Kashmir, Lt. Gen. Syed Ata Hasnain.
Dr. Mohan Bhagwat said the Islam came to India with the aggressors is a historical fact which needs to be told as it is without mincing words. The sensible leadership of Muslim society should oppose the tyrant elements. A Muslim will have to speak boldly on the face of the fundamentalists. This onerous job with determination and sustained effort. This a long and hard challenge is before all of us. The sooner we start addressing the issue, the less harm will be done to our society. If India is a superpower, it will not be there to scare anyone. As India becomes a superpower, it will be in the form of Vishwaguru (A Global Guide). For centuries, it has been our culture to striving for the welfare of all the living and non-living. Therefore, no one has any reason to fear or worry with India becoming a superpower.
Hon. Governor of Kerala, Arif Mohammad Khan said that wherever diversity has been eradicated in the world, evils have engulfed them. Wherever diversity is preserved, the more prosperous the society is. In Indian culture no one is considered unequal because everyone is equal.
L.G. Sayyid Ata Hasnain cautioned everyone that after 1971 their defeat to India, Pakistan conspired to bleed us under a grand strategy. The Indian government, army, police and Kashmiri people have destroyed this conspiracy in the last 30 years. However, under the changing cirucmstances, Indian Muslims can be targeted by Pakistan. Muslim intellectuals should be vigilant and thwart this conspiracy.
