Tamilnadu to benefit by Centre – state thaw
A dedicated Elevated Expressway from Chennai Port to Maduravoyal upto NH 4 was awarded in 2009 with a total project cost of Rs.1815 crore. The 19 km highway is to consist of an elevated section of 17.5 km — from the Southern gate of the Chennai Port to Maduravoyal. It will run along the Cooum river banks and then run above the Poonamallee High Road at Maduravoyal on National Highway-4 (Bengaluru Highway). The Project was stalled in March 2012 during construction stage due to objections from the State Government on the alignment. The project work has been resumed after sustained efforts of Ministry of Shipping. The Govt. of Tamil Nadu which was earlier reluctant has now come on board and is actively supporting this significant project. The new thaw in Centre –state relations is viewed as an offshoot of the entry of AIADMK into the national NDA coalition recently. Politics apart, this bonhomie seems to have caught up with the state bureaucracy too. The Tirunelveli district Collector Shilpa Prabhakaran Sathish took to task VAOs against whom farmers had complained that the village officials failed to receive their applications for the Rs 6,000 per annum Kisan Samman Yojana of the PM. Earlier, Shilpa earned praise for admitting her daughter to a government Anganwadi, instead of a private playschool. She also won the hearts of people by paying a visit to an elderly woman who donated her son’s organs. She also issued an order to grant her old age pension.

Attempts To Sever Tamilnadu From National Fervour

Sample how the Tamil mainstream media covered Pulwama terror attack: Channels vied with one another to telecast the pearls of wisdom by actor –politician kamal hasan who had the temerity to advise one and all on plebiscite – at this juncture – completely ignoring the fact that vacation of PoJK is the precondition for that. The fidayeen terrorist who exploded 200 kilos of RDX killing 40 CRPF jawans in Kashmir was reverentially mentioned as militant by carefully avoiding the word Jihadi, which he was. The behaviour of the Tamil MSM in covering Surgical Strike 2 by IAF destroying terror base camps of JeM was worse: A certain journalist Radhakrishnan, one of the panellists of a TV channel discussion, raised doubts whether any terrorist was eliminated in the raid. After Pulwama all terrorists were moved away from LoC and the camps were empty. It took hours for an average Tamil viewer to know the truth. All terrorists had been brought to Balakote, proving Indian intel inputs right.

Brutal Brainwashing of Police By, Who Else?

A police man was lynched by mob, for performing his duty in Vaniyambadi in Vellore District. It is a custom for TN Policemen to skip regular vehicle searches, helmet wearing checks to document checks ,if one is seen with Muslim attire. In this incident, as seen in the video, the policemen is surrounded by muslim mobs, grabbing his phone and arguing loudly. Sources say the policeman came in for a regular enquiry in the locality and knowing this locals gathered in large numbers hindering the government employee from performing his duty. It is worthy to remember Inspector Selvaraj who was lynched to death in Coimbatore Ukkadam (a Muslim majority area again) for levying fine on motorists who came in triplets in two wheeler in 1997. A couple of years back, Triplicane in Chennai witnessed a Muslim mob preventing arrest of a youth of their community who had stalked a Hindu girl. They laid siege to the police van. Most appalling is the Ambur episode wherein Muslims in thousands battled policemen on bandobast duty. Women police personnel had to flee to save their honour. Dozens of policemen had to be hospitalised. Instances can be multiplied. The malady is so deep that last week policemen removed the word ISLAMIC from a poster announcing a demonstration condemning Pulwama carnage by Jeish jihadis. It happened, where else, in Tamilnadu only.
