Commemorating Swami Vivekananda 150th year Birth celebrations ‘Run for the Nation – Mass Run event was organized in all district head quarters of all over the country. In Chennai, the event was inaugurated by Serial/Cine fame Kutti Padmini. Sri Gautamananda, President of Sri Ramakrishna Mutt Chennai blessed the event, Mayor Saidai Duraiswamy, Chennai Corporation presided over the event. VHP State leader R B V S Manian highlighted on the importance of Swami ji’s speech at Chicago. Among 7500 people there, 5200 participated in the Run.
Dr.Vanniyarajan, Kshetra Sanghachalak, Sri Stanumaalayan Kshetra Pracharak, Sri Durai Shankar Vibhag Sanghachalak, RBVS Manian, VHP were present on the dais along with Mayor Saidai Duraiswamy, Swami Gautamananda, President of Sri Ramakrishna Mutt, Cine Fame Kutti Padmini, and other dignitaries.
In Krishnagiri 2500 people gathered and 1700 participated in the Run.
In Pondicherry, the Chief Minister flagged off the event wherein 3750 participated. 50 VIPs like Ministers, Retd. Judges etc. were part of the event.
In Tiruvannamalai, Chengi taluk around 580 youth participated. DSP Paneerselvam flagged off and BMS State leader Sri Sankara Subramaniam addressed the gathering.
In Chengam of Tiruvannamalai, 650 youth participated. Sri Venkatachalapathy of Sakthi Polytechnic Chengam flagged off the event along with Sri Pandurangan, Correspondent, Vivekananda School.
In Erode around 2800 people gathered. Deputy Collector, Mayor, Deputy Mayor and other VIPs also participated.
In Salem around 1100 youth ran in the event.
In Karaikudi, Sri Kesava Vinayagam, Pranth Pracharak Dakshin Tamilnadu addressed the gathering along with Sethu Sudalaimuthu VC azhagappa university who flagged off the event.
Lakhs of people ran on the event across the country.
