Potrait Wall of Hereos inaugurated at Kasargod

Central University of Kerala became the first in southern region to inaugurate Wall of Heroes- consisting 21 portraits of Param Veer Chakra Vijeta soldiers in its campus at Kasargod, Kerala.

World renowned scholar and Chancellor of the University Dr P. L. Chopra inaugurated the Wall in presence of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Gopa Kumar, Shri Tarun Vijay, President of the Vidya Veerta Abhiyan, Dean, registrar, faculty members and a large number of students.

Dr Chopra said that this wall of heroes will inspire students and be a reminder that they are able to study, sleep peacefully because there is someone at the front who is awake to protect them.

He thanked Minister for HRD Shri Prakash Javadekar and Raksha Mantri Shri Arun Jaitley for supporting and encouraging such an inspiring initiative.

Shri Tarun Vijay said that Vidya Veerta Abhiyan should reach every school and college and local martyrs should also be honoured and their pictures displayed on campuses. He said that those who are attacking army verbally fall on the same category of assaulters who use guns and stones to attack them. Both have to be defeated with the power of nationalism. He said that the idea of starting Vidya Veerta Abhiyan came to his mind after listening Prime Minister Shri Modi’s Leh speech to the soldiers.
