Calling a ‘historic hike’ in minimum wages to Rs.350/- per day and a step forward in transforming the nation and labour reforms, RSS inspired Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (largest labour organization) decided not to join the nation-wide strike to the call given by Central Trade Unions.
Based on the deliberations in the meeting of the Minimum Wage Advisory Board held on 29.8.2016, the Government has decided to fix the minimum wages for central sphere at Rs.350/- per day for unskilled non-agricultural workers for ‘C’ category areas, keeping in view the modalities of fixing the wages.
· The outcome of the meet/talks was fruitful and great achievement for Indian workers.
· Advisories will be issued to all State Governments to ensure that registration of trade union takes place within 45 days.
· Social security benefit to unorganized sector like Anganwadi, Mid-day Meal, etc will be examined by a Committee at the earliest.
· “BMS directs all its affiliate unions, members and well wishers not to participate in any strike on 2nd September 2016,” said BMS general secretary Virjesh Upadhyay.
