Rama. Sankaran:
He Ploughed A Lone Furrow For Vedic Revival
It was a book release function. Nothing unusual. But the person about whom the Tamil – English souvenir speaks was. Not even the person, but the contribution of his dedicated life to the study of Vedas was unusual. Free India under ‘secular’ dispensations neglected the study of Vedas while designing curricula. The community entrusted with keeping alive the study of Vedas too took to careerism, leaving the Vedas by the wayside. It was at this juncture that late Shri Rama. Sankaran dedicated 17 persons (and counting) of his family to the study of Vedas. Neither ‘secularism’ nor careerism could deter his mission. Neither peer pressure nor domestic resistance. In 1976 he took out from school his son, three sons of his brother and his grandson – five in all, called the pancha Pandavas – and sent them off to Veda Patasala. Later on, he inspired his sons to do likewise and sending kids to Vedic study became a family tradition. The purity of his purpose inspired his daughters’ families and they too joined this Vedic revival yajna. Word spread. A trickle of Chennai families that offered kids to vedic study by bidding goodbye to careerist education started. Before he breathed his last a couple of years back, Rama. Sankaran made sure that the third generation also took to Vedic study. It was in effect a saga of nearly half a century. Kanchi Sankaracharya Shri Vijayendra Saraswati Swamigal, who graced the book release function in Chennai on April 20, implored the big gathering of his devotees to emulate the life-long warrior for Vedic revival.
Break A Pot And Cause A Crack – In The Hindu Society!
Breaking mud pots by miscreants caused caste riots in Ponparappi, Ariyalur district, on April 18, the poll date. (Pot is the election symbol of Viduthalai Siruthaigal Katchi (VCK) and Ponparappi falls in Chidambaram Lok Sabha constituency where VCK chief Thirumavalavan is a candidate). Even as the polling progressed in a peaceful way, gangs went on rampage with lathis, charging at houses, people, policemen, using abusive language on women all the while. Why should enmity between two political parties spill over to the general public, some asked. They are ill informed. Dividing the population as warring castes was the intention. In this political clash, names of Hindu Munnani and RSS were dragged in by pro urban naxal entities. The Hindu organisations promptly put the record straight and reminded one and all that while they worked for Hindu unity, it is the castiest politicians who are in fact bent upon violently dividing Hindu society.
Lanka Blasts: Warning Bell Rings Unmistakably For Tamilnadu to Heed.

Even as ISIS triggered bomb blasts in Srilanka, the name of National Thowheed Jamath, surfaced, much to the horror of people in Tamilnadu. There is a reason. Yes, an Islamit outfit with similar intent and with a similar name is active in Tamilnadu. It is the Tamilnadu Thowheed Jamath, TNTJ for short. Though, the TNTJ, has announced it has no connections with the Srilankan Islamist outfit, barring a similar name, the police and NIA investigations tell a different story. It may be worth recalling, a photo with Muslim youngsters from Ramanathapuram sporting ISIS T-shirts sent shock waves across the country. The Indian investigations reveal connections with the main Srilankan suicide bomber Mohammed, spanning from Madurai, Coimbatore, to Mannady, Chennai (TNTJ base). India’s RAW had also alerted Srilanka of potential bomb blasts across the island. Further investigations reveal, the blasts were originally planned to be held across Tamil Nadu, but given the heavy security and surveillance across the country, the plan was shifted to Srilanka. A call to ban TNTJ, PFI, SDPI and other Islamist outfits has been given by Hindu outfits. A nationwide ban on Burqa and face mask costume has been bought out by the Srilankan Government, while ditto situation here cries for a ditto step by authorities.
