PRESSMEN OUR BROTHERS, AFTER ALL, SAYS ABGP
In what could prove to be a far-sighted move, volunteers of the premier consumer movement Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat, Tamilnadu, tied Rakhi to Editors and journalists by visiting media houses on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. This is the third consecutive year of their campaign. This year they could make it to the Chennai offices of The Hindu, The New Indian Express, Deccan Chronicle, News Today – all English dailies and also Dinamani, Dina Thanthi, Dina Malar, Maalai Murasu – all Tamil dailies. They were received amicably, according to Shri M.N. Sundar, ABGP Tamilnadu coordinator. The volunteers made it a point to visit Doordarshan Chennai Kendra as well. The Public Grievances official of the state government too happily received the Rakhi offered by ABGP volunteers. ABGP volunteers also tied rakhi to Mayor Saidai Duraisamy.
