Law and Order worsens in Kanyakumari, thanks to Christian belligerence
Kanyakumari District has a sizeable Christian population. Frequently that causes belligerent posters by that community. On Christmas day this year some Christian outfits took out a religious procession much against the standing order banning religious procession in Kulasekaram, Kanyakumari district soon after the 1981 Mandaikaadu Christian riots. The processionists had the temerity to clash with a peaceful BJP procession on the occasion of AB birthday. Police had to take action against the processionists. Soon the two MLAs belonging to DMK and Congress both Christians rushed to the scene in support of their co-religionist throwing the police force into confusion. As a result, the law and order situation worsened in that area.
