Dr.
Hedgewar Smarak Samiti, RSS affiliate, organized a 15-day yoga camp for Asthma
at Agarwal Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vepery, Chennai today.  Sri H V Hande, medical practitioner, former
Minister of AIADMK and now National Council member of BJP inaugurated the camp.  Speaking on the occasion, he explained in
detail with medical terms on how asanas can protect our health in day to day
life.  He further stated, “When I was a
MLC during MGR period, I was asked to find way to curtail the spreading of “Madras
Eye’.  I immediately said that if we do
not shake hands for greeting each other and just say ‘Vanakkam’, then infection
will not affect others.  Madras Eye will
wade away in one day. Culture helps to cure disease. In yet another occasion,
when RSS invited me to inaugurate a Blood Bank function, I requested our former
Chief Minister M G Ramachandran for permission to participate.  He immediately and happily accepted saying
that RSS is doing good work without publicity. Feel happy to participate in the
function”.  Dr. Hande wished the yoga
camp a great success and that by word of mouth itself; RSS keep doing its
service activities.  Sri Sreedharan, Yoga
instructor explained how culture forms the habit and mannerism.  He appealed the participants to create
awareness on how today’s young generation are facing with diseases and elaborated
how our ancient ancestors practiced Yoga in their daily life.
Sri
Srinivasan, Prant Karyalaya Pramuk co-ordinated the programme.  Sri M K R Mohan, Secretary of Dr.Hedgewar
