November.
presided by his Holiness Swamy Vishweswar swamy Maharaj ji of Mumbai. In this
session, the working President of VHP, Praveen bhai Togadia proposed a
resolution on Untouchability which is not in our scriptures. Even in Vedas or
in any Dharma Sastras untouchability did not have any place. VHP is bent on
eradicating untouchability completely from India. This campaign which started
in Udupi in the year 1969, seems to show its impact. Setting as an example, Saints
were fed at the house of Dom Raja Community organized by VHP through a
Shilanyas karyakartha Kameshwar Choupal.
this campaign, VHP, organized the foundation of Ram janma Bhoomi, by a Dalit
worker, Kameswar Choupal and food in the house of Dome Raja for the saints.
Now, through “Hindu Mitra Parivar Yojana”, lakhs of Hindu Dalit brethren are
into this fold cultivating intimacy amongst each other. “Ek mandir, ek kuva, ek
smashan “which means one temple, one well, one cremation ground- only will make
Bharat great”, is the only mantra that is doing the rounds in Bharat. His
Holiness, Puya Jitendranath ji Maharaj, who came from Amaravathi in Maharashtra,
said that this was the right time for bringing harmony among all. The mantra of
harmony, i.e understood Samarasata seems to be materializing. His Excellency,
the Prime Minister is the live example of Samarasata. The right to study Vedas
and Sastras should be given to all. All the great saints of Bharat are
equivocal in eradicating the idea of untouchability. This will get eradicated
and Bharat will become a super power in this whole idea of spreading equality. When
the divine avatars, whom we all love, don’t belong to any particular cast, then
why this disparity among devotees?
Raghavacharya Maharaj has alleged that the rule of the British and Muslims
contributed in strengthening this disparity. Bharat can become strong only by
eradicating this bad system of untouchability. Boudh Savth, Bhante Rahul Bodhi
ji, also endorsed this statement and said that Dr.Bheem Rao Ambedkar dedicated
his life for the cause of eradicating untouchability. After he failed in this,
he accepted Buddhism. The resolution to do a way with this, by all the
religious heads, will definitely help in realizing the dream of Dr.Ambedkar,
Pujya Harish Shankar Das ji of Rajasthan has said that this imbalance of
society will surely be eradicated.
Punjab, Pujya Phooldol Das ji of Brindavan, Pujya Sukhwendra Das ji of Udupi
have also supported this statement. Sri Lingacharya ji Maharaj of Bengaluru
stressed that Vir Shaiva tradition is not different from all this. This is also
a component of Hindu society. Both are inseparable. Sri Govind Dev Giri ji
Maharaj has questioned that how can there be differences when the creator of
this whole creation is the same. The common thread to tie everyone is only
bhakti or devotion. The solemn vow taken by these saints will definitely
materialize.
Saraswathi ji Maharaj of Karnataka, has opposed the idea of acquisitions of
temples and their demolition. The systems regarding temples should be in the
hands of the society and not the Government. In Karnataka some temples were
usurped in the name of law. This was very strongly opposed by the Hindu saints.
Seeing the displeasure of these saints an autonomous board was setup to look
after the temples but later the board was dissolved and another new law was
enforced but declared void by the judiciary. In spite of this also, Karnataka
Government is not leaving any stone unturned in occupying these temples. As the
elections are very soon coming, these acquisitions have slowed down. The intentions
of the state Governments are still not good. Pujya Sangram ji Maharaj of
Telangana has alleged that the Government has nothing to do with the temples.
Pujya Yogi Raj Divyanand ji of Haryana also reiterated the same and also warned
the state Government. Pujya Appaya Das ji Maharaj from Kerala also supported
this and said that the way the Parthasarathi temple was usurped by the Government
was malleable. Pujya Kalahastendranath ji from Karnataka also reiterated the
same and warned the state Government that only society has the right to control
temples. The temples demolished by taking the protection of the law reflect the
bad intentions of the Government. The others who also unanimously supported
this resolution are Pujya Ramsharan Das ji of Himachal Pradesh, Sadhvi Pragnya
Das ji of Bhopal, Sri Hemant Prem Das ji of Rajasthan, Sri Guru Padanand ji of
West Bengal and all Saints presented in Dharma Sansad.
