Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari mandal (National Executive Council) was held in Mathura during October 25 & 26, 2024.

After two-day discussion, RSS Sarkaryavah Sh Dattatreya Hosabale addressed newspersons at Deendayal Gau Vigyan Anusandhan evam Prashikshan Kendra, Gaugram Parkham, Mathura.

Sh Hosabale emphasised that RSS works towards ‘man-making, character building and personality development’ through its shakhas and imbibes Bharatiya values in people.

The Karyakari mandal discussed and decided to hold training camps for karyakartas and swayamsevaks attending shakhas which are the basic building units of RSS. Special training camps would be held for karyakartas and swayamsevaks based on their background, age-groups and areas of specialization and different sections of the society.

Karyakari mandal discussed current situation, context and plans to expand Sangh work given its multifaceted dimensions. In the meeting, plans for expansion going forward, new ideas and innovative ways to connect with people from different age groups, strata of society were discussed.

A review of progress in Sangh expansion was held in aftermath of Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (All India General Council) – the highest decision making body — held in March this year.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has entered the Shatabdi Varsh (centennial year) this year. RSS has completed 99 momentous years. Ways to organize programmes during the centennial year leading to Vijayadashmi in 2025 was also discussed. RSS karyakartas will undertake a massive outreach among people with Panch Parivartan – five transformative ideas – during Sangh Shatabdi varsh.

Focus would be on pursuit of lifestyles based on ‘swa’ (selfhood), social harmony (Samajik Samrasta) and right family values inculcation (Kutumb Prabodhan). Sangh will also push for issues relating to conservation and preservation of environment apart from emphasisin on civic duties in Bharatiya society.

On Sangh’s expansion, Karyakari mandal noted that 72,354 shakaha, were being held in 45,411 places. About 3626 new places with 6645 new shakhas have been added in last one year as part of expansion drive ahead of the Shatabdi varsh.

Similarly, number of places where ‘once in a week’ (weekly once shakhas) meetings were held totalled to 29369. There has been increase of 3147 in number of places where such meetings were being held. In places where daily sangh shakhas were yet to reach, monthly Sangh Mandali work in progress at 11,382 places. Last one year, 750 places have added to the list of Sangh mandalis.

In toto, Sangh is now expanded to total 1,13,105 and will expand more before Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha meets in Bengaluru next year.

During natural calamities and disasters, Sangh Swayamsevaks were the first to take charge of rescue, relief and rehabilitation of affected people. This year too, during Tarakeswari river flooding in West Bengal, volunteers served 25,000 people at relief camps. In Odisha floods, 4000 people were provided healthcare, food and water.

In July this year, 1000 volunteers each were engaged in relief work after landslides in Wayanad . During floods in Vadodara, Jamnagar, Dwarka also relief work was undertaken. Last rites of 600 people who died in different disasters were performed. It’s not just Hindus but those dead from different communities were cremated as per their custom and traditions.

‘Swa’ (selfhood) is the work that relate to fragrance of the soil, identity of Bharatiya people and society. Mahatma Gandhi had said that in Swarajya, ‘Swa’ means ‘independence’ and it’s the true identity. We have to pursue lifestyles that are in sync with selfhood and self-reliance, own traditions, civilization, Bharatiya experiences. Even while imbibing modernity, do not forget ‘Swa’.

This is 300th year of Punyashloka Ahilyabai Holkar. Her extensive work in social awakening, renovation of temples, efficient governance shows that even 300 years ago, women power was at the centre and could provide governance for people and public good capably.

Sangh emphasises on culture, harmony, education and healthcare for all in true Bharatiya spirit, tradition and sustainable way. Drugs consumption is a menace, say no to drugs.

On OTT platforms, Sangh is of the view that much of what is being shown on all internet platforms is not socially acceptable. There should be freedom of expression but there is a need to regulate the content on these platforms. All stakeholders will have to evolve a mechanism for such regulation and government will definitely pay attention to this.

On recent Bangladesh incidents, RSS strongly feels that Hindus should not migrate from there. They should stay there, it is their land, and Shakti peeths are there in Bangladesh. Hindus live all over the world. Wherever there is a crisis, Hindus look towards India which is but natural.

On Waqf properties, based on recommendations of the joint parliamentary committee, the government will work keeping in mind larger public sentiments.

On Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi, the matter is being heard in the courts. The courts will take a call. There is no need to do anything on this like Ayodhya, the society will decide. We are with the Hindu society.

Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukha Sunil Ambekar, Sah Prachar Pramukh Narendra Thakur and Pradeep Joshi and Kshetra Prachar Pramukh Padam Singh were also present at press conference.
