Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat (ABGP) submitted an appeal for facilitating/implementing of RTI on online immediately. A team of ABGP representatives met the Principle Secretary of Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms on 13th July 2018 and submitted the appeal in person with more than 10000 (TEN THOUSAND) signature from entire TamilNadu for facilitating / implementing filling of RTI online. ABGP have also informed that this facility is available with the Central Government and requested the same may be implemented/extended for the people of Tamil Nadu also. NIC developed the RTI Online application for the centre. The same software can be used with some customization. It will be useful if the application can be bilingual in Tamil and English. Extending the facility through E-Seva centres will be a welcome measure, says ABGP. Secretary also apprised that this facility is good for the people of the Tamil Nadu and she has assured that she will do the needful in considering the same.
Representatives of ABGP also elaborated the benefits from the point of consumer on the simplified online easy procedures, cost-effective, time-saving, transparency to information with sense of responsibility is good to the society. This transparency or RTI on online will reduce the cost of dissemination of information, traceability, and publicity to view and act and enhance E-Governance.
