The Tamil Nadu assembly budget session is going on , every ministry places their demand , programme for grant. On Saturday , 04/09/2021, the Hindu Religious & Charity Endowment minister Mr.Sekar Babu, while presenting the demands for his ministry made a slew of announcements , 112 to be precise.Apart from the normal administrative announcements some new proposal , schemes were announced in floor of the house , that make the Hindus/ , devotees to worry/doubt of the DMK Govt’s intention. They are 1. starting of 10 new Arts & Science Colleges ,2. f Gold/ ornaments donated in the last 10 years are to be made as bars and pledged in the banks ,3. creation of 108 new posts in 38 districts to follow up the recovery of temple properties, 4. Appointing 10000, ten thousand, as custodians for temple assets,5. Grant of Rs 1000/PM to 12959m archakas of temples where only one time rituals are performed, 6 Free “tonsuring” for all devotees offer their hairs,
The starting of new colleges,and melting and pledging/.monetising of donated gold are violating the Madras and Karnataka/AP HC orders.The courts have clearly said the Presiding Deity is the absolute owner of the property of the temples. These assets/properties only should be used for temple/devotees purposesThe HR & CE is already running , as per 2009 report submitted to Madras HC, 28 schools elementary to Hr.Sec leves and 34 Karunai illams , orphanages. The report further says 37000 temples do not contribute anything, 12000 have no revenue even for performing one puja in a day.
The HR& CE is a white elephant , sucking the entire income, mainly from, very few temples. Even these income of the temples are not from the properties/assets donated/ bequeathed by philanthropists, but from the illegal collection from the devotees to have the “ Darshan” and other services and “ hundy” collections. The department from day one not discharging its responsibility, it was supposed to . Madras HC has been, from time to time, directing it to furnish the details of land and other properties, lease /rental data etc. Recently , after the DMK govt took over the HC directed to upload land details in public domain and the Govt announced it is already on the job.. But nearly more than two months since the govt claimed to have digitised the land records, the public is not aware of the details , leave alone accessing them. The HC also questioned the discrepancies in the details furnished in 2009 and the earlier ones..HC pointed out variations of about 50000 acres. The Govt is yet to clarify the queries raised by the HC. To everyone’s shock the minister announced in the assembly its intention of creating 108 officer posts to monitor the land recovery process and appointing 10000 persons as custodian of temple properties. Already overburdened temple will die a natural death. The Kazhagam govts have “dubious” records in the matter of appointment. Even TNPSC selections/tests were subject to HC’s condemnations. Actually the government’s posts are “ auction
ed”. Regarding other movable assets like jewellery/ornaments , the real status is no one even presiding “ Deities “ of the temples may be aware of. Every day news appears about the theft of jewels or many costly ones are replaced with fake ones. Rs 1000/PM to DMK Will Never End Hindu Bias Archakas is peanuts, when Pastors/Maulvis are paid a couple of thousands. Devotees who take a vow to offer “ hairs” would gladly pay for tonsuring. While he is fleeced ,to have “ darshan” of the GOd/ Goddess , which should be free like the minorities in the country, none will be “amused” by this so-called “ gesture”. Regarding the other developments, kumbahiseshams , facilities to devotees , announced in the assembly it is every one’s guss from where the “ debt ridden” govt will arrange funds.. The majority population is angered./annoyed with the actions of the Govt. The “atheist” govt has acted against the agmas/ traditions in appointing archakas, its flip-flop in the take over of Kesava Perumal Koil , in Chennai, appointment of Jeeyar for Srirangam Ramanuja Mutt etc. have not gone well with the people. The actions/restriction on the celebration of “Vinayagar Chathurthi” have further “alienated” the Govt. There are reports the Ganesh Idol makers are harrassed /arrested . The ban on opening of places of worship on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays is selective. While the temples are closed on these days Churches/Mosques hold their Mass / Namaz as usual. Law enforcement authorities turn blind eyes to them. DMK voted into power on false promises/assurances. Now facing public wrath for not implementing its poll promises. While it opposes the Central Govts “ monetisation” does the same in temple matters. Are the anti Hindu actions a ploy to divert public attention? Was DMK’s announcement/claim during the poll , it is not anti-Hindu , a poll stunt? Will this hasten the Hindu consolidation and force the Govt to change?
