Police are on rampage against installation of temporary Vinayaka idols. Police have gone to the places where idols
are to be installed and have demolished the sheds and wooden platform on which
idols are to be installed and indulged in threatening office bearers and
committee members of Vinayaka Committee in local areas.

one such incident, the parents of the members and office bearers of the
Committee including ladies have not been spared, beaten badly till he was
bleeding in the nose, mouth and head. In
many places, Office bearers and Committee members were detained in the police
station for several hours and were made to sign the printed forms stating that
they will not indulge in installation of Vinayaka idols. In many places, police have removed the
Vinayaka idols from the place where they were installed and have taken them to
police station.

express grievance against the happenings, Hindu Munnani is organizing a prayer
in city from 4.30 pm in all the places where idols are already installed
praying Lord Ganesha to take necessary action against the Tamilnadu Government
headed by Selvi Jayalalitha.
