Vijaya Dasami Utsav – Chennai Vibhag
20th October 2013, Saraswathi Venkatraman School
Vijaya
Dasami marked by the last day of Dasara which is commonly known as Ayutha puja
is a very special day where we offer respect and gratitude to our Guru and
Shastra (instruments and tools). It is one of the utsavs celebrated by Rashtra
Sevika Samiti. It is signified by sevikas performing puja to Shastras and books
that helped them in Sharirikh and related activities and offer pranams to the
sacred Bhagwat Dwaj which guides every sevika throughout the mission of
rebuilding our strong Hindu nation.
The
utsav began with Smt. Anu, State Executive Member BJP, lighting the lamp. A
devotional song on Lord Ganesha by Selvi. V. Varsha of Hindu Senior School
marked the begining of the utsav. This was followed by a breif talk for the
children on the importance of Vijayadasami by Smt. Anu.
 An
inspiring Boudhik was rendered on major events of our freedom struggle along
with episodes from the life of young patriots like Utham Singh and Madan Lal
Dhingra by Shri. Sairam, Director, CTS and State Treasurer, Vidya Barathi. This
instilled a spirit of real patriotism and served as a source of encouragement
for the children to choose the right role model for their life.

This was followed by Yoga,
Neyudha and Dhanda demonstration by 23 Sevikas from Indra Nagar,
Lakshmipuram
and 3 Sikshikas. 55 people (Shaka Sevikas and their parents)
along with Samiti Karyakarthas performed Shashtra puja followed by Vande
Mataram and delicious prasadam.
