INDORE: ‘India’s border is unsecured and porous’; RSS chief Bhagwat at Mega RSS Convention

Indore January 07, 2013: China does not want India to progress and take a leading position in Asia, said RSS Sarasanghachalak Mohan Bhagwat.
“You all know that India’s border is unsecured and porous. India does not harbour enmity against any country. However, the countries that are against us are trying to weave a web from all sides,” Bhagwat said.
“China does not want India to make progress and grow. It does not want India to take a leading position in Asia, while Pakistan is known for its ill-will and enmity (towards India) for no reason,” he told a huge congregation of RSS workers ‘PRANTH EKATREEKARAN VARG’ at Vivekanandpuram inIndore.
Without naming Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik,Bhagwat said, “Recently one Pakistani minister visited India and left everybody annoyed.”
“There is always a demand to step up vigil along the border. However, there is no preparedness. They keep talking about it in Parliament, but nothing really materialises in this regard. Smuggling of drugs, arms and cattle has been rampant along the border,” he said.
Saying that India was facing a number of problems like price rise and unemployment, Bhagwat added, “Even if we conduct marathon sessions in Parliament to discuss the problems in India, the discussion would not be complete.”
Alleging that “politics of selfishness” is rampant in the country,Bhagwat said, “We elect the government. But when we want the government to solve our problems, it does not come forward unless it sees some benefit in it.”
“Many countries had vanished in a span of 50 years. However, India is surviving despite all odds and problems. No one has got powers to eliminate us…,” he said, adding that only Hindutvacould save the country from all its woes.
Hailing the contribution of RSS leaders, Bhagwat said politics alone would not solve the problems in the society.
Urging RSS workers, Bhagwat said they should come forward to bring about a positive change in the society and eradicate social evils.
“Society needs heroes, who possess character and strong emotional bond with people and win their confidence to change the society for betterment without selfish interest,” the RSS chief said.
“Our Independence came after a lot of struggle…leaders sit in the Parliament in different groups and oppose each others’ ideologies…But society needs brotherhood,” he said.
Stressing on the need for change, Bhagwat said that people themselves would have to rise to solve the problems being faced by the country rather than blaming the government.
“When the government doesn’t come forward to solve the problems being faced by the people, the latter tend to blame and abuse the system. This has been the trend from the time since India became a democratic country…but nothing has ever been achieved from such a practice. People need to rise themselves to bring about change,” he said.
Bhagwat further said people had the tendency to have misconceptions regarding RSS due to their inadequate understanding of the organisation. He also said that “only those individuals were against the organisation who feared the strength of RSS”.
