It is this historic republic day in 1963, Rashtriya Swayasevak Sangh was invited by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Ji to take part in the parade in full Sangh Uniform. In spite of opposition of this move in the party, Nehru Ji observed that his party might have differences of opinion with the RSS, but when the nation was passing through a crisis all of us should forget the differences and work unitedly.

The dedicated contribution of the RSS during Sino-Indian War in 1962 was immense. Swayamsevaks across the Nation assembled to help the army as well as the locals. This dedication forced the then PM Jawaharlal Nehru to invite the RSS to take part in the Indian Republic Day parade of 1963.

Shri Mohan Bhagwat hoisted National Flag at Dr. Hedgewar Bhavan Mahal, RSS Headquarters, Nagpur and Shri Suresh (Bhaiyya) Ji Joshi hoisted national flag at MIT Medical college, Lathur.

Let us resolve to defend our national values, constitutional commitments, and democratic spirit and rededicate ourselves for the all round development of our nation”.
