New Governor of Meghalaya hails from Tamilnadu

Shri Shanmuganathan
Shri
Shanmuganathan, who hails from Thanjavur in Tamilnadu will be the new Governor
of Meghalaya. He is a gold medalist, post-graduate and an M Phil in Political
Science. 
Imbued with the
spirit of patriotism and a desire to serve the nation with a missionary zeal,
he joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh as a Swayamsevak in 1962. The
teachings of Swami Vivekananda and the spiritual thoughts of Manicka Vasagar in
Thiruvasagam inspired him to lead a life of dedication to Motherland.
He became R.S.S.
Pracharak in the year 1970. He has served at various levels of responsibilities
including Prant Pracharak of Tamil Nadu, for two decades. Later he became the Kshetriya
Bauddhik Pramukh and the Prachar Pramukh.
During the
seventies, he worked heart and soul amongst the youth to sensitize them about
the rich Indian heritage and more so to sanitize them against the separatist
and narrow parochial tendencies then prevailing in the State. Later, he was
instrumental in organizing activity-oriented forums like the Movement for National
Unity and Integrity, Tamil Valarchi Mandram (to develop Tamil literature) and
Bhakthar Peravai (devotees forum). He rendered selfless service to end caste differences, created unity, equality and brotherhood among the various sections of the society.  Strived hard for social harmony and equality in every district of Tamilnadu

Then he served
as prabhari of the Defence and Research & Documentation Cells at BJP
National Headquarters. Presently, he is assigned to the BJP Parliamentary Party
Office as its Additional Secretary and The Prabhari for BJP Overseas Affairs.
Shri V.
Shanmuganathan is a prolific writer. His three books covering a variety of
subjects relating to culture and social aspects have been published in Tamil.
The books in English with the title “Karyakarta Nirman” and “The
Remarkable Political Movement”
became very popular among the activists
of many patriotic, socio cultural organizations. Besides, he has contributed
over 600 articles in the leading newspapers and magazines, both in Tamil and
English.
