Our President Ms.Pratiba Patil greeted all the communities who are celebrating Puttandu Pirapu (New Year) today.
Cricketer Dhoni, after winning the IPL Match held at M A Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai on 13-4-2010 addressed the reporters and said, “I wish all the citizens of Tamilnadu a Happy New Year. It is supposed to be tomorrow”. He dedicated his victory to the Vikruti Samvatswaram (New Year). The stadium screamed out of joy. Famous Drum Master Sivamani blew drums on hearing this. Chief Minister M Karunanidhi was in the stadium watching the IPL Match with his colleagues.
