Anthim karyakram of Shri Subbarao, RSS Senior leader held at Shakthi Karyalaya today. Swayamsevaks, well-wishers offered floral tributes to the soul and shared their thoughts. Shri Gurumurthy, Shri Ramagopalan (Hindu Munnani), Shri RBVS Manian, Akhila Bharatha, Kshetra, Prantha Sangh Adhikaris were present. Karyakram ended with Anthim pranam tribute to Shri Subbarao Ji. His eyes were donated.
RSS senior leaders had expressed their condolences for the departed soul.

Brief note on Shri Subbarao
J Subbarao Ji was born in 30 March 1933 at Saidapet,Chennai to Shri.Jagadeesh and Shrimati Kallammal. He is the fourth child of the seven children. He became Swayamsevak at an early age of 9 years. In the year 1945, he was attracted towards RSS by listening to Shri Guruji’s Speech at Ramakrishna Mutt School, T Nagar, Chennai.
In the year 1954, Subbaraoji completed his BA-Maths (B.Sc now) degree at Tambaram Madras Christian College. He then worked as teacher in Nungambakkam High School (near Independence day Park in Chennai) for 6 months, then in Walajabad, Kanchipuram district for 4 months and then in Nellikuppam, Cuddalore District for a year. Subbarao ji then completed his B.T (Now B.Ed ) course at the Saidapet Teacher Training College . He then worked as a teacher in Arani for 2 years and in Chengalpet for a year.
Due to the ban on the Sangh in the year 1948, the statewide sangh magazine could not be published. The “Thyagaboomi” magazine was started to fill this vacuum. Subbaraoji took the massive task of adding subscribers to the magazine and toured extensively in the state for collection of funds to keep it running. He went to Sankarankovil(Tirunelveli district) in the year 1965.He was elevated to Mahanagar Karyavah post from Shakha post.In the year 1967,he became a Pracharak at Sankaran Kovil.In 1968 he was made the Pracharak for Tirunelveli & Kanyakumari districts and In 1970 for Salem Dharmapuri Districts . In 1974, he was made the vibhag pracharak for Chennai District.In 1977, he was made the leader for the Adult education scheme of the Sangh. In 1978, he was made the Vibhag pracharak of Trichirapalli district. From 1982 to 1990, he was the state Organising secretary for Vidya Bharati. From 1990-1996, he worked for Vidya Bharati in Kurukshetra, Haryana district. He then returned to Tamilnadu in 1997 and worked as state secretary for the Samskar Bharati .
Subbaraoji was arrested during the emergency period under the MISA act. He made friends with many Muslims and DMK Partymen during his tenure in Jail. He spearheaded the flood relief program in the year 1970 in Vedasandhur, Dindigul District. He also led the Free Goa Movement from Tamilnadu. He was fondly known as the GPS of Tamilnadu; authoritarian on the history of RSS; master copy of sangh songs.
